The National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic, co-sponsored by the (DAV) Disabled American
Veterans and the Department of Veterans Affairs has proven to be a life-changing experience for
America's most severely disabled veterans since it began in 1987. Enclosed are posters promoting the
2015 clinic for you to display in high visibility areas so disabled veterans can learn about this great event.
We certainly hope veterans from your facility will be able to attend the clinic held at Snowmass Village,
Colo., March 29 — April 3, 2015 to take advantage of this unique rehabilitative experience. Think what the
adventure of skiing can mean to someone who has lost arms, legs or sight. The clinic offers adaptive
Alpine and Nordic skiing, and providing an introduction to other adaptive activities and sports to seriously
injured veterans. It truly is more than a recreational activity. We've watched this program dramatically
improve the rehabilitation potential of VA patients; seen it enhance veterans' health and fitness; and after
many years, the smiling face of just one newly injured veteran remains the best reward of all for the
limitless dedication and hard work that goes into the clinic each year. We're making a real difference in the
lives of our injured heroes, and we want to make sure veterans know about the clinic. We want them to
know the clinic provides an opportunity to more seriously injured veterans than any other event of its kind,
including veterans with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, certain neurological conditions,
orthopedic amputations, visual impairments and other injuries. Please display these posters at your facility,
and encourage your staff to make sure U.S. military veterans and active duty servicemen and women with
serious disabilities learn about this magnificent life changing opportunity.
Thank you for helping promote the 2015 National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic. Working
together, we can make "Miracles on a Mountainside" possible for our nation's injured heroes.
