Our Mission

Dedicated to a Single Purpose

DAV’s mission ensures that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them, fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill, and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life.

Over 350,000 veterans live in New Jersey. More than 50,000 carry a service-connected disability. DAV NJ serves them through 32 chapters, all staffed entirely by volunteers.

The New Jersey DAV Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization raising tax-deductible donations to fund the service work of DAV’s 32 in-state chapters.

How We Do It

Providing free, professional assistance to veterans and their families in obtaining VA benefits and services earned through military service.

Providing outreach to the American people generally, and to disabled veterans and their families specifically.

Representing the interests of disabled veterans, their families, widowed spouses, and orphans before Congress and the NJ Legislature.

Extending DAV’s mission of hope through a network of 32 state chapters and volunteer programs.
