If you are a transitioning service member, veteran, or military spouse who is seeking employment in the Delaware Valley, this is the one job fair you do not want to miss. This event will showcase dozens of the region's biggest and top veteran-friendly employers. When you register, you will receive a welcome email that will include a link to upload your resume. If you fail to upload your resume prior to the career fair, recruiters will not have access to your profile. Recruiters will be using the resume database to screen candidates prior to the career fair. We will also send you an employer e-book leading up to the career fair and ask that you let us know of any jobs you apply to prior to the career fair. All are welcome to join us on THURSDAY, October 14, 2021, from 6:30 pm (doors open) to 7:00 pm. Meeting Promptly begins for the MILITARY SUPPORT GROUP of New Jersey. Please wear a mask. We are Collecting Care Package Items for our Deployed Troops. We are Collecting non-perishable Grocery Items for our Local Military Families at Pomona Air Base and Joint Base McGuire/Dix/Lakehurst. And we are Collecting Holiday Care Package Items - New DVD Movies (no War movies, please), NEW CDs of Music, NEW White COTTON to the Calf Socks, Small Hand Held Games - UNO, Cribbage, Yo-yos, Harmonicas, Small puzzles. small Boxes of Assorted Chocolates, Candy Canes, Small bags or Cans of Nuts, Hard Candy, etc. ( we will be wrapping items in holiday paper, sending along with holiday cards and a Santa hat by November 18 for delivery to our Deployed Troops in time for Christmas.) Homes for the Brave is excited to announce its first annual Cornhole Tournament! The tournament will take place at InSports Trumbull on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The cost per team is $100 (for two players) and includes a double-elimination tournament, cash prizes for the top three teams, raffle prizes, and more. All proceeds from this event will benefit Homes for the Brave and the Veterans that they serve. Located in Bridgeport, CT, Homes for the Brave provides housing, mental health, and employment services to Veterans experiencing homelessness, helping them to secure income, build life skills, and make meaningful contributions to our community. Since its founding in 2002, Homes for the Brave has helped over 1,400 homeless individuals. General Ronald S. Coleman (USMC, Retired)) In April 1999, Lt Gen Coleman deployed to the Balkan Region and served as J-4, Joint Task Force Shining Hope. In 2003, Lt Gen Coleman reported to the 2nd Force Service Support Group deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as Commanding General Special Purpose MAGTF. He deployed again from February 2004 until June 2004 as commanding general, Combined Joint Task Force Haiti, in support of Operation Secure Tomorrow. For his leadership in Haiti, the French government awarded him the Gold Medal of French Defense. Lt Gen Coleman received his third star on October 27, 2006. At the time, he was only the second African American to attain the rank of lieutenant general in the United States Marine Corps. His third star was pinned by Lt Gen Frank E. Please join The American Tang Soo Do Association and KAMAS Karate at their Annual Veteran’s Kick-a-Thon to benefit Homes for the Brave, a nonprofit dedicated to providing housing and services to homeless Veterans. The event will take place at Insports Centers, 29 Trefoil Drive in Trumbull, on Saturday, November 6th, from 12:00-2:00 pm. Each student has been asked to collect donations for the number of kicks they will execute during the 90-minute event. Premier of theatrical play, "22 A Day"

NJ MTMPlayers presents the Premier of play, 22 A Day! Local NJ Playwrights Mark A. Bodrog (Capt. USMC, Ret.) and Hunter Haskins (USMC, Ret.) bring a troubling and eye-opening play "22 A DAY" for their premier performance by the American Legion Post 455-led acting troupe "The MTM Players" for three performances. Veteran's Day, November 11th, November 12th, and November 13th, all at 7:30 PM at our legion post (Doors open at 6:00 PM). Proceeds will help Veteran suicide awareness and homeless programs. Tickets are $22, which includes a finger food buffet and draft beer for those 21 and over (I.D. will be checked). MEMBER/MILITARY I.D. TO GAIN ENTRANCE. SYNOPSIS: Mark is a recently retired Marine Captain with a wife and baby. He is obsessed with the number of veterans committing suicide (averaging 22 per day). Along with his marine brother Betts and a crusty old Korean and Vietnam War vet, "Uncle Harry", Mark explores solutions to the high suicide rate among veterans. He even gets a meeting with his Congressional Representative to discuss possible legislation. As the day unfolds, Mark continues to count the vets committing suicide. By the close of the play, Mark suffers a personal tragedy himself. Will he be among today's 22? Adult situations/minor language -Topics: Suicide, minor simulated bloody injury in one scene, alcohol consumption. Parental Discretion Advised. We will leave it up to the parents to judge if their child is mature enough for these tough subjects. (No sexual content-only adult situations/topics) Semper Fi.

Known but to God all American Legion - Post #405 Fiends and Guests are invited to a presentation "Known but to God." WHERE: Union League (Downtown) 140 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA Legion Post 405. WHEN: November 15th at 6 pm. GUEST SPEAKER: Kara R. Newcomer. Known but to God: The selection and burial of America's WWI Unknown Soldier". PROGRAM – "Known but to God: The selection and burial of America's WWI Unknown Soldier" (at the 100th Anniversary). Gives an overview of the selection of the WWI Unknown Soldier. This includes background on how the candidate was selected and then his journey home to the US, and the ceremonies leading up to his internment in Arlington National Cemetery. There is a bit of a Marine Corps bent to the talk as that was the agency Kara was working for at the time when she first wrote her article and first created the presentation. The presentation includes a PowerPoint slideshow with both photos and a few news (movie) clips taken during the events in 1921.
